The Towers at Emeryville is a corporate office community on the shoreline of the Emeryville Marina Peninsula. As low-water-use planting design becomes ever more critical in California, the client asked Carducci Associates to re-envision the expansive turf sections of the Towers’ campus. Our team proposed a striking ornamental grass design that bisects the campus with a ribbon of grasses leading users to the shore where a viewing deck, social space, and swing structure provide a place for tenants to relax during breaks. The architecturally compelling swing structure also functions as public art, drawing one’s eye across the Towers’ campus.
