Carducci Associates worked with the City of San Francisco, Presidio preservation and development groups, playground neighbors and the Helen Diller Family Foundation, to create an accessible playground within the city’s historic Presidio. Key elements of our design included respect for the surrounding neighborhood, along with honoring the cultural and natural histories of the Presidio. A sculptural and tactile fountain offers interactive sand and water play for children, encouraging creative development. By opening new avenues of play, the park becomes an active force in creating playtime narratives that help children to socialize, learn, and develop as thinking individuals.
