ORACLE PARK (FORMERLY AT&T PARK)

This 2009 renovation of the existing playing field at Oracle Park (formerly AT&T Park) accommodates Major League Baseball play for the San Francisco Giants and facilitates annual renovation from baseball field to football field for use by National Collegiate Athletic Association, United Football League, and others. The design improves both drainage and field irrigation system efficiency so that the field can flexibly sustain the variety of field events (baseball, football, concerts, special events, etc.), conserve water, and be more easily managed. As part of the service, Carducci Associates worked closely with the SF Giants’ head groundskeeper to develop the drawings and specifications required for project implementation. This field renovation design supported AT&T Park’s LEED® Silver certification by incorporating sustainable practices for materials, water conservation, stormwater management and organic maintenance practices.

Then in 2019 we were commissioned again to develop drawings and specifications to modify the warning tracks, bullpens, field, subsurface drainage and irrigation related to an extension of the foul ball netting and relocation of home and visitor bullpens from the original location to a safer location behind the home run fence. This required the home run fence and warning track be moved closer to home plate and a special drainage system be designed for the new bullpens.
