The Novato High School Fields and Tennis project is an eight million dollar improvement to the exterior athletics facilities, which occurred simultaneously with the building of the new PAC and a Science-Technology-Engineering-Math building on campus. Long overdue for a conversion to synthetic turf, the baseball field has remained in place, while the softball field was relocated adjacent to it. This opened a space for new lit tennis courts to replace those displaced by the PAC architecture. Finally a combination soccer/lacrosse field completes the site amenities. All venues have been brought up to current code with respect to accessibility and the campus water usage has been radically reduced to meet these trying times of recurring drought. These all-season sports fields and courts are built to endure with minimal upkeep and have significantly boosted school pride, which extends into the broader community. When not in use by the students, the new tennis courts are open to the general public as a neighborhood feature.
