Envisioned as a place where research, learning, farming and commerce would exist in harmony, the Milk Farm in Dixon, California was planned to encompass dining and shopping venues, a transportation station, germ plasm repository, wellness center, museum, and headquarters for Moller International. Carducci Associates provided a master plan for the site that would reflect the area’s agricultural character—exemplified by orchards and hedgerows, farm structures, a pond, corn maze, and vegetated swales. Other landscape design elements would include wildlife habitat enhancement, stormwater retention basins, biofiltration swales, eco-pavers, structural soil, and provision of recycled water and alternative energy sources.
